Toronto, ON - (August 19, 2008) - Avon Cobourne, Keron Williams, Dominique Dorsey, and Davis Sanchez were named the CFL's top players for week #8, the Canadian Football League announced today.

Players of the Week are selected for on-field excellence by members of the Canadian football broadcasters.

Avon Cobourne is now the league-leader in rushing yards following his impressive all around game against the Toronto Argonauts last Friday night. Cobourne rushed 16 times for 107 yards and also caught five passes for 103 yards and one touchdown in the Als 32-14 road victory. Cobourne's 103 receiving yards and 210 yards from scrimmage both led the league last week.

Cobourne has rushed for a league leading 715 yards and is eighth in the league with 463 receiving yards this season. Cobourne has a chance to become the first player in league history with over 1,000 yards rushing and receiving in the same season.
