Last season, the CFL and Future Shop teamed-up to give fans the first-ever opportunity to vote for the division and CFL all-star teams.
Returning for its second season, the CFL's Senior Vice President of Marketing and Commercial Assets Rob Assimakopoulos says allowing fans to vote for all-stars is a great way for fans to interact with the CFL and its players.
"Fans of our league appreciate the opportunities they get to become part of not only the game, but the whole CFL experience, said Assimakopoulos. "In a year with so many standout performances, fans and the media will have some fun picking out this year's all stars.
Fans, alongside the Football Reporters of Canada (FRC) and eight CFL head coaches will vote to determine the East Division and West Division all-star teams, which will be announced on Monday, November 3, 2008. From the divisional all-stars, fans will then have a second opportunity to vote with the FRC and head coaches to determine the CFL All-Stars.
"Future Shop is excited to partner with the CFL for a second year to bring online, interactive All-Star fan balloting to the fans," said Anita Sehgal, Director of Customer Experience, Future Shop. "Many of our customers are huge sports fans and are enthusiastic participants of online fan voting."
The all-stars will be selected on the basis of a combined vote from fans and the football reporters of Canada. Fans are limited to one vote per day and can vote for as many positions as they wish.
The program also offers fans the chance to enter the CFL Future Shop All-Star Balloting contest, with prizes including CFL merchandise, Future Shop gift cards and a trip for two to the 96th Grey Cup.
The CFL Future Shop All-Star Balloting website was created and designed by Indusblue, a Toronto-based interactive marketing agency.
