Rochester Raiders Ready For The Transition

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (June 19, 2008)- Saturday night the Rochester Raiders will play their first game in the American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) when the Erie Riverrats travel to the Blue Cross Arena. Kickoff is scheduled for 8pm. The Raiders will be holding a fan appreciation day by making admission to the game 100% free of charge. Saturday's game will be the first game in the "American Indoor Cup Championship Series" and will be the first of what could be up to four more home games for the Raiders. The Raiders are scheduled to play two games (June 21 and June 28) against AIFA teams and are currently in talks to create a game against their former league the CIFL's championship winning team. "We have always been an organization dedicated to our fans and this city," commented Raiders co-owner Dave McCarthy, "We are allowing fans to come watch two games at no cost to them as we make this transition to 8 on 8 football. We have two great teams coming in over the next two weeks and they should both prove to be extremely competitive. It is not going to be an easy transition but we feel that we have an extremely talented coach and players that are more then capable of being successful in this league."
