Soul Playoff Daily

SOUL & MUNSEY HAVE HISTORY OF USING EXTRA TIME EFFECTIVELY

The Philadelphia Soul and head coach Bret Munsey enjoyed more time off last week following their 70-35 victory over the Cleveland Gladiators in the Conference Championship Game. Coach Munsey and the Soul have responded following bye-weeks, going 2-0 this season and 3-0 during Munsey's tenure. The Soul had their regular season bye-week Week 14 and followed it with a 71-64 victory at Dallas. The Soul had their second bye of the season in the playoffs and followed that one with a 49-48 win against New York. The SaberCats are also 2-0 this season following their bye, but they lost last season following their regular season bye-week Week 4 against Georgia 64-62.

WHAT'S UP TODAY

Practice was held outside again today. The defensive backs provided some on-field entertainment for the team and media to keep everyone loose. After warm-ups they danced around and pretended to be a New Orleans-style marching band.

HE SAID IT

Soul head coach Bret Munsey on getting his team ready for the big game: "The bottom line is we have to stay focused and prep well for the next couple of days. It is going to be a hell of a football game. I feel for the first time in a few years that the two best teams, personnel-wise, are going to be playing on ArenaBowl Sunday."
