United Bowl IV Preview

Omaha, NE - After 15 weeks in the regular season and the first two weeks of playoffs, United Bowl IV is here. United Bowl IV will feature the Eastern Conference champion, the Bloomington Extreme against the Western Conference Champion, the Sioux Falls Storm. The winner of the game will then host the champion of the Intense Football League in the National Indoor Bowl Championship game to be played August 2.

BLOOMINGTON (8-7) vs. SIOUX FALLS (12-3)

At Sioux Falls, SD

Saturday, 7:05 p.m. Central

The Sioux Falls Storm will host the Bloomington Extreme Saturday evening at the Sioux Falls Arena. The match-up between the two teams will be the third this season and fourth all-time. Sioux Falls leads the series 3-0 as they won 50-37 on March 8th, 49-41 on July 14th and 66-35 on July 1, 2006. In their last action, the Storm defeated the Billings Outlaws 46-44 on June 28th in the Western Conference Championship game. Leading the way for Sioux Falls were quarterback Terrance Bryant and defensive back Andre Fields. Offensively, Bryant tallied 139 yards of total offense (16 rushing and 123 passing) while also having a hand in two touchdowns (one rushing and one passing). Fields helped lead the defense as he tallied five tackles and also broke up a pass. Bloomington returns to Sioux Falls having defeated the RiverCity Rage 33-7 on June 30th in the Eastern Conference Championship game. Leading the way for the Extreme were quarterback Dusty Burk and the team's defense. Burk, a UIF All-Star, completed 23 of 37 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns. The Extreme's defense didn't allow the Rage to score until 1:21 remaining in the fourth quarter and made four tackles for loss, intercepted four passes (one returned for a touchdown) and also broke up six passes.
