"This entire year has been a celebration of our league, our country, and the bond between the two - past, present and, most importantly, future," said CFL Commissioner Mark Cohon.
"So it makes perfect sense to cap the season by celebrating young Canadian artists on our country's biggest stage, centre-field at the Grey Cup, the nation's largest single sporting event."
Theory of a Deadman is a dynamic rock band originally from North Delta, British Columbia. With seven Top 10 charting singles, two Platinum albums, and their newest release, Scars and Souvenirs, already having been certified Gold, they bring fitting rock anthem power to halftime.
Band members Tyler Connolly, Dave Brenner and Dean Back got their break when Connelly gave one of their demo tapes to Nickelback's Chad Kroeger who, upon listening to their songs, quickly signed the band to his 604 Records label.
Currently touring, Theory is scheduled to appear via satellite feed today on TSN, at halftime of the Thanksgiving Day Classic between the Montreal Alouettes and Hamilton Tiger-Cats (kickoff at 1 p.m. eastern).

Her Top 10 hit single "Believe" has been featured on "Oprah" and is in the running to become the anthem of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games.

"Diet Pepsi is proud to be the title sponsor of the halftime show, proud of our reputation as one of the country's most dynamic and youthful brands, and especially proud to rock the halftime show with this caliber of talent," said Dale Hooper, Vice President, Marketing, Pepsi-QTG Canada.
"These young Canadians epitomize the spirit of youth in much the same way that the Diet Pepsi brand does. They took bold steps to get noticed. They're successful. And they're ready for this massive opportunity, a moment that promises to be exciting, electric and, like the Grey Cup itself, profoundly Canadian."
Montreal's Olympic Stadium is the site of the 96th Grey Cup game on November 23rd. It's the very first broadcast by the CFL's now exclusive television partner, TSN. The Grey Cup game will also be broadcast on RDS in the French language.
"Just as the CFL binds one region to another and one Canadian to another, the Grey Cup brings Canadians together in a very moving and powerful way," Cohon said.
"So we've brought these young stars from different parts of the country together, to collaborate in a way that will thrill our fans at the stadium, entertain the millions of Canadians watching on TSN and RDS, and make us all proud."
