Shock anchor offensive line with Lorenzo Breland

Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that OL Lorenzo Breland has been added to their 2009 roster.

Breland finished his collegiate career at Jackson State in 2007 and is expected to compete for the starting center position vacated by Center Rico Ochoa, who retired last season.

Breland, 6-1 320, was selected to the 2007 1st Team All-Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) as the anchor in an offensive line that gave up only 20 sacks all season (ranked 3rd in the SWAC).

"We have a lot of respect for the SWAC conference and the players that they produce. To be named 1st team All-SWAC means that people down there thought highly of him as well," Head Coach Adam Shackleford said. "We are in a situation where there is going to be a changing of the guard at the Center spot and we really feel like he will be able to compete for the position and help lead this team."

Breland is the 14th addition to the Shock's 2009 roster.

Season ticket reservations for the 2009 season are now being accepted and can be made by calling (509)242-7462.
