Jamel Richardson And Ben Cahoon Named Players Of The Week

Montreal, Oct. 15, 2008 - The Canadian Football League announced today that Montreal Alouettes' receivers Jamel Richardson and Ben Cahoon have been named, respectively, the Offensive and Canadian Players of the Week for Week 16.

Richardson - Offensive Player of the Week

Richardson continued his outstanding season, catching 12 passes for 125 yards and tying a single-game team record with three receiving touchdowns. Richardson's trio of majors allowed him to take the CFL lead for scores this season with 13.

Anthony Calvillo was runner-up for the Offensive Player of the Week award as he was 33-for-41 for 371 yards and three touchdowns passes in Monday's 42-11 win over the Tiger-Cats at Montreal's Percival Molson Stadium.

Cahoon - Defensive Player of the Week

Cahoon tied a single-game team record with 13 receptions on Monday, which he converted to 164 yards and a touchdown. With that, he has now surpassed the 1,000 yards receiving mark for an eight time, setting a new Alouette record.

Linebacker Reggie Hunt was named runner up for Defensive Player of the Week after totalling one interception and six tackles against the Ticats.

The Alouettes will visit the Argonauts at Toronto's Rogers Centre this Saturday at 3 p.m. (RDS, TSN, CKAC SPORTS, CJAD).
