Blue Bombers Fill Media Relations Role

WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have named Arash Madani as the new Director of Media Relations and Communications for the football club.

Madani is no stranger to the Canadian Football League. He was the director of media relations for the Ottawa Renegades (2004-2006) and handled communications responsibilities for the 92nd Grey Cup in the nation's capital. Madani has a background in print journalism, sports radio and both local and national television. The graduate of Bishop's University was most recently a bureau reporter for The Score television network.

"We are pleased to bring someone with Arash's experience and background to our football club," said Lyle Bauer, president of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. "Arash is well known in the CFL and in media circles across the country. He is a welcome addition to our organization."

Madani covered the CFL in a media capacity from 2001-2004 (The Sherbrooke Record and Team 990) and again from 2006 to his appointment this week (CFL.ca and The Score). He will handle all day-to-day media relations duties with the football club and be the team's spokesperson.

Madani begins his duties with the Blue Bombers on May 21, 2008.
