Dusters Partner With Goodwill Industries For Special Promotion

AMARILLO, TEXAS The Dusters are continuing to reach out in the Amarillo community. This week, they are partnering with Goodwill Industries for National Goodwill Week and their "Goodwill Goes Green in Center City" promotion this weekend.

On Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 10, people will be able to bring donations to the parking lot across the street from the Paramount Building on Polk Street. The Goodwill truck will be parked there from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, May 9, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 10. The truck will then be moved to the Civic Center on Saturday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for Dusters fans to drop off donations.

People that bring donations on Friday and Saturday on Polk Street will receive a Buy 1, Get 1 Free ticket voucher for the game on May 10 against the Lubbock Renegades.

"People will be able to drop off their donations and walk right across the street to the Paramount building to redeem their ticket vouchers for the game at the Dusters box office," said Dusters vice president, Joe Morgado.

"The Dusters organization is always looking for ways to enhance the community," Morgado said. "We are proud to partner with Goodwill Industries and help in any way we can."

Goodwill Industries' mission statement is to enhance the dignity and quality of life for individuals, families, and communities by eliminating barriers to opportunity and helping people in need reach their fullest potential through the power of work.

"Each Goodwill ultimately has this same mission and goal," said Goodwill marketing director, Ashley Henson. "Every bit of the money that we bring in through these local Goodwill locations stays in Amarillo and Canyon and goes straight toward our programs."

This week is National Goodwill Week.

Henson said that people can drop off donations or have them picked up just like any other time during National Goodwill Week, and that there will be special deals and sales in the stores for customers.

There are five Goodwill locations in Amarillo and Canyon, and each one benefits from the donations received.

"We are excited to have this partnership with a group that is big in the community like the Dusters," Henson said. "Everyone loves the Dusters and football, and we are really grateful for their interest in helping the community."
