Storm And Outlaws To Meet For Division Lead

In what has been called the most important regular season game in Storm history, Sioux Falls and Billings will meet for the third time this season on Saturday. The Billings Outlaws are coming off of a strong victory against the Omaha Beef, 61-40. The Storm is now leading the division at 8-2, but if Billings could pull off a victory this week, they would be leading the division with the tie-breaker over both the Storm and the Beef.

Outlaw Quarterback Chris Dixon is currently leading the UIF in both passing yards and total offense. He is averaging 229.9 total yards of offense per game, and is the only quarterback in the UIF that has thrown for over 2,000 yards this season. Last week against the Beef, he had seven passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown. The Outlaws also have a great receiving corps, with Robert Reed and Willie Austin ranked third and fourth in receiving yards per game in the UIF. Reed had 81 receiving yards with one score last week, while Austin had 96 receiving yards with three touchdowns last week.

The Billings defense is second in the league in points allowed, trailing only the Storm. The Outlaws have allowed only 33.5 points per game. Leading the Outlaw defense is linebacker Travis Salter, who ranks third in the UIF with 60.5 tackles. The Outlaws defensive line also has the second most sacks in the league. Mike Bazemore is leading the league in sacks with 6.5 and Eugene Phillips is ranked fifth with 4.5. Defensive Back Travonti Johnson leads the league in interceptions with eight and is second on the team in tackles with 44.
