Blue Bombers Add Three To Practice Roster

WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced the signing of three new players to the club's practice roster.

The club inked non-import defensive end Troy Cunningham, as well as a pair of imports - defensive lineman Dorian Smith and defensive back/returner Justin Phinisee.

Cunningham (DOB: Oct. 29, 1981 in Kingston, Ontario), a product of Concordia University, was originally selected in the fifth round (40th overall) of the 2004 Canadian College draft by the B.C. Lions. He spent time with the Lions and Hamilton Tiger-Cats during the 2005 and 2006 seasons, playing eight games with the Tiger-Cats over those two years.

Smith (DOB: August 19, 1985 in Van Nuys, California) was recently cut by the Washington Redskins after playing his collegiate football with Oregon State. The 6-3, 280 pounder started as a senior in 2007 with the Beavers.

Phinisee, a seventh round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2006, has spent time with Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, St. Louis Rams and Dallas Cowboys. Phinisee (DOB: April 10, 1983 in Long Beach, California), a starter throughout his collegiate career at Oregon, measures 5-11 and 200 pounds.
