The Soul are looking for that "Cinderella story" of an athlete rising up from obscurity to play professional football. The Soul will hold tryouts for players at all positions and each athlete will be required to participate in offense and defensive drills. Players will complete at one of the following positions: QB, WR, DB, OL, DL, FB, LB or K.
Those interested in trying out should arrive one hour prior to tryout start time for registration. Players should dress in workout gear and have sneakers unless noted below. Pads will NOT be worn.
All participants will be required to sign a waiver and pay a registration fee by cash or money order only - no checks or credit cards will be accepted the day of the tryouts.
There is pre-registration available for Philadelphia ONLY by logging onto www.philadelphiasoul.com. Participants who pre-register and pre-pay will only be charged $60. If you only register, and do not pre-pay, you will be charged the full $75 the day of the tryout.
The workout will consist of running the 40-yard dash and 20-yard short shuttle. Players will then go through position drills and one-on-one drills, both offensively and defensively.

The Soul celebrated their fifth anniversary this season with a 59-56 win over the San Jose SaberCats in Virgin Mobile ArenaBowl XXII. The Soul drew a total of 131,817 fans this season, their largest number since their inaugural season of 2004. The Soul sold out four games in the 2008 season and averaged 16,477 fans per game. Since their inception, the Soul have drawn a total of 646,043 fans, the most in the AFL over that time frame.
