Stamps And Timbits Enter Fourth Season

The Calgary Stampeders are pleased to participate in their fourth season of the Timbits Football Program, in partnership with Tim Hortons.

Kicker Sandro DeAngelis is the Stamps spokesperson for the Timbits Football program. He has participated as a honourary coach the past few seasons and this is his first time acting as the spokesperson. DeAngelis, along with other Stampeders players act as honourary coaches for Timbits games that take place at McMahon Stadium.

The 2008 program started with games on Sept. 8 and will continue Sept. 15, 22, 29 and Oct. 6. The games take place under the lights at McMahon Stadium from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The Stampeders will once again feature the Timbits Football program at half-time on Oct. 18 as the Stampeders take on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children who participate in local sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing but on learning a new sport, meeting new friends and taking time to be a kid. The program is for kids between the ages of eight and 10 (atom division), providing them with a fun, positive experience that will encourage them to participate in clubs, teams and other activities in their lives.
